Moyna has worked in the field of Occupational Therapy since 2001, and has 15 years of service within the NHS. Moyna worked within St George’s, a large teaching hospital in London covering: Neurology, Trauma and Orthopaedics, Oncology, Vascular (amputees), Acute medical, Care of the elderly and cardiac rehabilitation.
Following this, she then worked in the community for adults with learning disabilities (mainly Autism) before finally specialising in Paediatrics.
Since 2009, Moyna has worked as an Occupational Therapist in the boroughs of Sutton and Merton and then became Clinical Lead Specialist for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and children with Special Educational Needs.
Moyna has worked within the Autism bases in the borough of Sutton and Merton where she assessed and contributed to the Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) of the children in the bases.
She was a regular member of the steering groups for many Autism bases in Sutton offering support and advice, and regularly attended the Education Liaison meetings in Sutton where the Local Educational Authority (LEA) met with Health teams (NHS) to improve and guide service provision.
Alongside her NHS roles, Moyna has worked as a Consultant Occupational Therapist in Private Practice since 2008, specialising in assessment and diagnosis of Dyspraxia.
She provides mentorship to final year Ulster University students studying the final course of the Sensory Integration Therapy modules as they become Advanced Practitioners.
Moyna finally left the NHS in 2016 after having her son and has opened her own private practice.
Moyna qualified from Brighton University in 2005 with a BSc 1st Class Honours Degree in Occupational Therapy, she has also undertaken post graduate studies (at Masters Level) in Sensory Integration Therapy and has qualified as an Advanced Practitioner in Sensory Integration Therapy (Level 4 and SIPT Certified).
